This week’s polishing

Let there be sound
The biggest part of this weeks update is oriented around sound. Imagine the wind rushing past your ear while falling hundreds of meters… Well, we added that to the game! Also punshing has a bit more noise to it. When flailing the arms of your favorite character around, a SWOOSH sound will play with a random pitch and speed. When, by chance, you actulay hit something while flailing around a cartoony punchsound will play (again with a random pitch)!

To add a bit more feedback on hitting obsacles, now obstacles also have a hit sound. Each obstacle has its own unique soundeffect!

 

Flipping the bird
Remember our bird particles? Did you like them? Good news! The bird particles have been modified to spawn more randomly. They will also fly in a more random direction and they will fly into the screen from random points as well. Of course, no seagull has ever been quiet, so we added a sound effect to them as well!

 

Main menu
Our game now has a main menu. The  main menu shows all characters sitting on a couch in the atmosphere… When players press ‘A’ they will be locked in, meaning that when the game starts they will automatically be added to the playingfield. When player1 pressed ‘START’ a short loading screen will appear and the game will begin!

If you liked our previous ‘plug-and-play’ idea, don’t worry! This mechanic is still present. If a player that wasn’t ‘locked-in’ wants to join a game, he can simple plug in a controller and press start to begin playing!

 

HUD
Due to some unexpected delay in the polishing of the player HUD, the HUD has been temporarily disabled.
