CouchDivers v0.6
Hello there!
This week we focussed on player feedback and finetuning gameplay mechanics. For example particle effects when players get hit or a percentage counter that tells the player how much knockback he/she will have when receiving a punch. We also added more feedback when the player gets and activates a powerup (see below). We also worked on the storm/tornado which is now procedurally generated, this helps to give the illusion the players are falling. We added particle effects which should help with this as well. We worked on skinning and texturing the other characters as well, these will be added next week.
Full changelist
1. UI that displays knockback.
2. Visual feedback for powerups.
3. Particle effects to display speed, and for various obstacles.
4. Powerups now clearly display when the player is able to pick them up.
5. Particle effects for various obstacles.
6. The tornado/storm is now procedurally generated.
7. Added temporary ui elements to explain the controls.
8. New character models
Plans for next week
Our plans for next week are adding the other characters. Finetuning the powerups. And adding feedback for the remaining obstacles.
